Located in the centre of Woking, this 80’s office block has been revitalised into an engaging piece of local contemporary architecture, providing 56 high-end apartments. The introduction of full-height picture frame windows allowed the apartments to be elevated with beautiful views of the public realm and introduce an abundance of sunlight whilst creating an eye-catching design.
CREATE:
Once a tired office building, the transformation of Chertsey Road has introduced further development of the area, now a predominantly residential locale with direct access to Woking town centre amenities. User experience was key to the design approach of this project with large feature windows maximising natural light and connecting occupants to their environment fostering a sense of ownership and place.
LIVE:
This project demonstrates the potential of under-utilised sites and how this potential can be unlocked through insightful design expertise. Careful analysis of the context and exceeding the client’s original brief has transformed a forgotten office building into a dynamic, engaging apartment development.
