The project brief has granted the MCL a unique opportunity to refurbish a former church into a series of contemporary apartments. Residing in a premier West London location, the site offers a plethora of opportunities for local relationships and collaboration. Built in 1901, the former church reveals various design opportunities to enhance the existing fabric.
CREATE
The proposal involves adapting the interior space to accommodate high end residential apartments while maintaining the building’s historical integrity. The design approach emphasised a careful balance between preserving the structure’s heritage and meeting contemporary living standards, ensuring a harmonious integration of past and present.
LIVE
The exterior and interior design embodies the character the building, juxtaposing the retained neo gothic exterior with contemporary high end apartments. The design has yielded a building full of character and innovation which fosters a harmonious balance between functionality and architectural aesthetics.
