White Chapel, London, E1 - 2020

MAKE
An existing building is located at the edge of the Altab Ali Park, Whitechapel in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The immediate vicinity is characterised by various streetscapes combining traditional and contemporary architectural styles in a rich urban fabric. The brief involved converting the existing building into an apartment development, including sensitively designed extensions where appropriate.
CREATE
By reinterpreting the gothic features of the main building, new forms reveal a modern interpretation of the traditional architecture, helping bridge between the old and the new.
